This page is the running log of how the Halumin™-C production version is moving through industrial manufacturing with Pepetools. Thru regular updates we will cover engineering and tooling to samples, production, and shipment.
Halumin-C is the compact Open Cylindrical™ and axial lighting system built for professional coin photos, small collectables (watches, die cast cars, action figures) and video using the camera or phone you already own. These updates cover the factory process behind the device.
Where Production Stands Now
Your pre-order is in the production pipeline. Kickstarter and website orders for the production version are locked in. Pepetools is handling final engineering, tooling, manufacturing, and fulfillment. Current target: first production units begin shipping in Q1 2027.
What that means right now:
The handmade beta run is finished. Lessons from those 100 units are being built into the production design.
Pepetools is working through production engineering so the factory version keeps the lighting geometry, independent sliders, tone light, sliding tray, and turntable that made the prototype useful for slabs, raw coins, toned coins, and rotational video.
Tooling and first factory samples are the next gated steps before a full production run.
The production unit is not the handmade prototype. Images you may have seen of Halumin-C so far are of the hand-built version. This page will note when factory samples and production photos replace those.
What “Industrial Manufacturing” Includes
1. Production engineering — convert the proven prototype into a design that can be built consistently
2. Tooling — build the molds, fixtures, and factory process
3. Factory samples — test fit, finish, controls, and lighting output
4. Full production run — manufacture the ordered units
5. Fulfillment — pack and ship to pre-order supporters
We are between steps 1 and 2. Updates will follow that sequence. How We Will Update This Page
